[The last event left Cheyenne in a weird place and since then, she's been rather scarce around the village. Aside from getting food at one of the village restaurants, she's spent most of her time either in her apartment or in the forests just outside the village. Today, she's actually back to her usual spot: sitting on the edge of one of Luceti's many bridges, looking down at the water.]

[A few hours of this goes by until she finally opens her journal and poses a question to the residents. The very thing that's been on her mind all this time.]

It is not uncommon for others to ask questions using these journals, yes? [A pause. She wasn't really expecting an answer to that.]

To be able to feel emotions, whether they be positive or negative. What kind of answers have you been getting so far?

Many answers, actually. Some far different from others.

Although yours is the first to be centered entirely on a creature's ability to feel emotions.

I don't think being a person means that you have to be human, or anything like that. It's a pretty debatable topic, so... Hey, what does it mean to be a person to you?

To be honest, it is not the sort of thing I have thought about very much. Until now, I was under the impression being a person simply related to being or acting human.

I don't think being human or acting as one has anything to do with being a person. But I do believe communication between one person and another is important.

Communication? What do you mean by that?

The ability to communicate what's on your mind to another. Like how we are right now! We're sharing both of our opinions and what we believe in -- I think that's pretty important for a person! It's what makes us, us.

It is a far more complicated topic than it seems, isn't it. I am beginning to wonder if there is a single definition that could be applied to it.

Yes, although I suppose that only makes figuring it out for myself all the more difficult.
