Old Post for reference.
Since Cheyenne is an original character, the only one who knows a lot about her is me. And since her app is full of much tl;dr, I've summarized some key things to know in a handy little list!
About Cheyenne
Cheyenne is an illusionist. Because she is missing most of her own soul, she needs to feed off of other souls to stay alive. However, while Cheyenne's powers may be evil, she isn't. She won't feed on people without their permission. Unlike other illusionists, Cheyenne is capable of (very limited) emotions and she'd feel guilty for doing so. Unless she is deprived of food for too long and loses her sanity, that is.
tl;dr about souls
In this case, the soul is more like a physical thing that makes up who a person is, which can be drawn out in the form of a silvery glowy string. Illusionists categorize the soul into four parts:
Length: A person's will to live. The more someone is willing to fight to live, the longer it will appear when drawn out.
Strength: Defined by a person's personality. If a person is strong-willed, they'll have a stronger soul that's harder to break apart and feed on.
Potency: The emotions a person feels, including feelings like love and hope. This part is delicious.
Power: A person's natural stamina and energy. Comparable to an HP bar in RPGs, it replenishes itself with sleep and food.
Illusionists usually feed on people by forcing them to experience an extreme emotion: fear. This causes the Potency of a soul to become more apparent and she can draw it out from the rest of their soul. That's why her default illusion is always a person's greatest fear. If this happens and she feeds for longer than a few moments, the person may be without emotions for up to a week. If she were to take more than 50% of their soul's potency, the effects would be permanent unless Cheyenne were killed, allowing the person's soul to return to them. These kinds of illusions are usually accidental or used for self-defense.
Since Cheyenne is a good little illusionist, she's figured out a way to feed on a person's Power instead. This will just make the other person feel tired or sleepy, and she can create a happy or peaceful illusion without needing to upset the other person. These kinds of illusions must be done intentionally.
In regards to her powers and (accidental) illusions:
1. If you accidentally look into her eyes, your character will immediately see an illusion of whatever it is they fear the most.
2. It is possible for a character to not be afraid of anythingassuming they are badass, in which case, everything will just fade to white.
3. Cheyenne can't see the illusion she makes, since it'll all be in your character's mind.
4. Breaking eye contact breaks the illusion, but doing this by yourself is very difficult if you've never done it before. A third person would have to intervene.
5. If you see her eyes through something, such as sunglasses, a tinted window, etc. you will not be affected by her powers due to the powercap, so you'll be able to see her eyes. Her eyes look like the inside of a mussel shell with no pupil or sclera.
6. For witnesses, the victim will basically be freaking out/crying/screaming while a strange silver thread is pulled out of their chest. This is how she eats people's souls. Yum. B)
7. Feeding twice a week will keep her happy, but once a month will keep her alive. There's no guarentee that she'll be able to stay sane, however, only eating just enough to get by.
8. Cheyenne's eyes can trap more than one person at once. However, they won't both necessarily see the same illusion.
9. Aside from her powers, Cheyenne is fairly weak and unable to fight.
In regards to interactions:
1. She sees people as shades of light/colors based on their soul, with or without the blindfold. If your character has no soul, she'll see them as an inanimate object.
2. Inanimate objects and creatures without souls appear in faint grayscale. She can still see these with the blindfold on, but not as clearly. She'll also have a lot of trouble telling people like this apart from each other.
3. Because she's technically a cursed being, touching her will give you a horrible chill and fill your mind with negative emotions and thoughts. Hugs: not a good idea. :|b This effect grows weaker the closer she feels towards a person.
4. She can't see the text on the page well enough to read, so any written entries and comments will be ignored.
5. She will lineface :| at you always and forever. Her own emotions are often very muted, and she has trouble understanding the emotions of people around her.

With that out of the way, here's a the stuff I'd like you to fill out, if you don't mind!
1. Character name:
2. Does your character have a soul? I use the word "soul" because it's part of Cheyenne's history and fits the best, but really, almost anything that is alive and has a consciousness would have a soul in regards to Cheyenne's powers! The only cases where a character wouldn't have a soul:
+They are canonly stated to not have a soul for whatever reason.
+They are 100% robotic/man-made.
I am open to making exceptions for those of you who believe your character should still have a soul, or have a good reason for why they would not!
3. If no, are they still organic (not mechanical)?:
4. What is their greatest fear? IMPORTANT: This part is optional. You are free to either keep it a secret (in which case, the illusion itself is hand-waived and only their reaction is played out) or leave it blank so you can describe it yourself in interactions. It can be something physical (monster, villains, spiders) or something emotional (death, losing a loved one, being alone).
5. Is there something special about your character Cheyenne should know?: For instance, if your character is actually two people, she would feel the presence of two souls. If your character is a God, they will have a verydelicious powerful-looking soul.
6. Is it okay for Cheyenne to learn things about your character based on their soul? Since the soul does make up a person, certain things can be seen right away. Their soul will look very short if that person has no sense of self-preservation. If a person is feeling an intense emotion, they'll appear brighter than usual. People who are very strong will be in bolder colors, and people who are very weak will appear more neutral. She won't go around sharing what another person's soul looks like, but she may bring it up with your character.
ONE MORE IMPORTANT THING. Since souls aren't the kind of thing you can just sell in a bottle for eatingif there is a canon with that, I would be so amazed, Cheyene will need to find volunteers willing to be fed upon. Keep in mind, these would be the peaceful illusions that cause no harm to a person, not the scary lose-your-emotions illusions! If you have a character who might be open to this, please let me know! If you aren't sure, Cheyenne will be making a post asking ICly at some point as well.
